We pride ourselves on our ability to offer the best that modern dentistry can provide, while maintaining the family atmosphere and warm, caring environment that our patients have come to expect from our practice.
Skin Needling, commonly referred to as "Collagen Induction Therapy" is a non-surgical procedure used to rejuvenate the skin, helping to smooth wrinkles, fine lines, soften scars and acne and improve the look of your skin. The skin becomes thicker, plumper and more youthful.
At Sensational Smiles Dental we offer skin needling in combination with CGF (Concentrated Growth Factor) facial rejuvenation; an all natural treatment that has revolutionised the beauty industry.This amazing treatment utilises growth factors that are found naturally in our blood cells and are responsible for healing damaged tissue in our bodies. Because of these amazing cells' capabilities, the treatment is able to rebuild connective tissue, collagen and elastin, giving you smoother, thicker, younger-looking skin. No synthetic or chemical products are utilised for this treatment, as the product you'll be treated with is extracted from your own blood. Skin needling with CGF is the next generation of facial treatment. It is the best the industry has to offer and utilises the very latest technology in cell harvesting.
The non-surgical facelift process uses absorbable thread cones and involves suture suspension under the skin. It is recommended for Ladies and Gentleman over the age of 30 who are showing signs of ageing, but do not want to undergo a full facelift or invasive surgery. This process can be used to treat many areas of the face including:
Facial ContourThis redefines the contour of the face, firming up the skin and giving a fuller look to cheeks.
Lower JawThe contour of the face regains definition and cheeks are redefined.
Cheeks and cheekbonesThe cheeks and cheekbones appear fuller and the nasolabial fold is reduced.
EyebrowsThis opens the eyes, and raises the outer edge of the eyebrow. This is a 30-60 minute non-surgical procedure with immediately visible results that continue to improve over the following six week period. Results last from 18 months – 3 years and can be combined with dermal filler treatment.
Anti-Wrinkle InjectionsMany facial wrinkles occur when we use our muscles to make repeated facial expressions. Anti-wrinkle injections are a great method to temporarily weaken the muscles for a more youthful appearance. A small amount of anti-wrinkle product is injected using a fine needle into the muscles that need to be weakened. Once the muscles are relaxed, you cannot contract and continue to make the undesirable facial expressions. Thus, the lines in your face gradually become smooth and new lines are prevented from forming. Anti-Wrinkle injections can also be used therapeutically to treat TMJ disorder, teeth grinding and teeth clenching. These conditions can all cause extreme pain and disrupt daily life. Fortunately, they can be treated with anti-wrinkle injections, which relax the muscles that control the jaw (temporomandibular) joint. The injections deliver targeted treatment to the source of the problem and allow you to enjoy your life free from pain.
Dermal FillersAs we age, the skin loses elasticity, volume and structural support which leads a deterioration in skin health and function, together with the formation of aesthetic defects such as deep lines, grooves and folds - especially around the mouth. In addition to this, our lips, which are one of the most prominent features of our face, begin to lose volume and become thinner and less defined. Dermal Fillers are a treatment method that provide immediate structural support and improved skin conditioning, leading to the reduction of facial lines and improved skin health. Dermal Fillers consist of a substance that naturally occurs in our bodies and is therefore broken down by natural means and is hypo-allergenic. Our Dentists have been specially trained by the world renowned Australasian Academy of Dento-Facial Aesthetics (AADFA) to frame their artistry and provide a more comprehensive service to our patients.
For many people the thought of wisdom teeth removal represents a great deal of fear.Your third molars commonly known as your wisdom teeth, are typically the last teeth to erupt in your mouth. At Sensational Smiles Dental we strive to ensure all our procedures are performed with your comfort as our main priority. For all procedures carried out we ensure that you are adequately anaesthetised to make sure your experience is one that is pain free and comfortable. In addition to local anaesthetic, we also provide intravenous sedation and penthrox amongst other options should they be required. If healthy and functional, your wisdom teeth can be useful. However, there are also reasons why you may need to consider removing your wisdom teeth. In some cases, your wisdom teeth are in fact healthy, but because of orthodontic treatment they need to be removed anyway. In other cases your wisdom teeth can become impacted, or only partially erupt through the gum in a misalignment. Whether impacted or partially impacted your wisdom teeth can cause pain, swelling, and even infection of the surrounding gum. They can also put pressure on adjacent teeth which can result in permanent damage to these otherwise healthy teeth and their surrounding bone. Sometimes, impacted or partially impacted teeth can also cause cysts within your jaw bone. Wisdom teeth may also need to be removed because they are very hard to clean and may cause severe tooth decay. Careful removal by an experienced surgeon will ensure as little post operative pain as possible and a speedy recovery. Our experienced dentist will assess your teeth and discuss the best treatment for you including any risks that may be involved.
Have you lost your teeth due to:
- Severe tooth decay;
- Gum disease;
- Trauma or even
- Failed root canal
When you look at yourself in a mirror, what colour are your teeth?
White... Yellow... or brown?You may or may not be aware that over time, teeth naturally become darker and stained. In addition to natural ageing there are some other factors like: smoking, certain types of foods and drinks such as coffee and tea also darken your teeth. Some prescription and over the counter medicines can have the same effect as well. A brighter white smile can be achieved by bleaching your teeth. Tooth whitening is a simple, non-invasive dental treatment used to change the colour of natural tooth enamel and is an ideal way to enhance the beauty of your smile. Having whiter teeth is one of the main aesthetic concerns of most patients. Bleaching can be achieved either in office or using a take home kit provided by your Sensational Smiles Dentist. It is important we assess the condition of your teeth so we can advise you on the best tooth whitening technique to suit you and your lifestyle.
Crooked teeth are a common dental problem.Studies have shown that up to 7 out of 10 people would benefit from orthodontic treatment at some point in their lives. An individual with a tooth or jaw alignment problem has a ‘Malocclusion’ which literally means ‘a bad bite’. Malocclusions have been strongly associated with head and neck aches (TMD), jaw clicking, ringing in the ears (tinnitus) and many other ailments. Orthodontic treatment has now become an achievable solution for crooked teeth in children, adolescents and adults. Our Dentists have undergone an intensive International Orthodontic program to help offer the latest in Orthodontic Treatment. Various options include Metal Braces, Ceramic Braces and Invisalign. At Sensational Smiles Dental Clinic our dentists will take the time to assess your treatment requirements and discuss with you the best option to address your needs.
A crown is one of the best ways to strengthen and protect teeth that are heavily filled, weakened or have darkened due to root canal therapy.If one or more of your teeth have been lost, a bridge can be used to replace them. It is imperative to replace lost teeth to prevent your healthy teeth moving into the wrong position and causing a poorly aligned bite and a possible loss of more teeth. A bridge is an artificial tooth that is secured to the remaining teeth either side of the gap. This will help provide you with a new functioning tooth and a confident, complete smile. Sensational Smiles Dental is pleased to introduce CEREC technology to our practice! This revolutionary same day crown system harnesses the combined efficiencies of digital imaging, cutting edge 3D modelling and a precision machine to create customisable dental restorations for all your prosthetic needs. What this state-of-the-art equipment offers is unparalleled speed and efficacy in the fabrication of lifelike prosthetic teeth and crowns. You can look forward to better fitting prosthetics that conform more precisely to individual teeth structure for optimal comfort and aesthetics. Using the robust and durable all-ceramic materials, CEREC restorations mirror natural teeth and look very realistic. This is all done in a single appointment! So not only do you save time, the number of dental trips and related costs, but you also get to see the results immediately! It is important to remember that even after protecting your teeth with a high quality, tooth coloured crown or bridge your natural teeth will still be susceptible to plaque and tartar build-up. Therefore, to ensure you maintain your Sensational Smile it is important to follow a regular at home brushing and flossing regime as well as attending your oral hygiene appointment every 6-12 months as advised by your dentist. Implants are also an option for tooth replacement – please ask one of our team for more information.
Most parents want the best for their children and this includes good oral health.Good oral health is a critical part of your child’s overall health and their self esteem. At Sensational Smiles Dental Clinic we pride ourselves on the special attention we give to children dentistry. We aim to ensure their experience with us is FUN! Our office is child friendly and is equipped with the latest toys, games and movies. And it’s not just the toys and games that make our unique children’s dental experience, our exam rooms are open and friendly, and our staff have been trained to give children the extra caring they need to feel happy, safe and secure whether they are 2 years old or a teenager. There is evidence to make us believe that a contributing factor in the progression of periodontal disease in young adults may be caused by a lack of oral hygiene they had as children. Those people who maintain good oral health leading up to their teens are more likely to continue brushing and flossing than children who were not taught proper oral care. A sealant is a plastic material applied to teeth, which hardens and provides a protective barrier against plaque and other harmful substances. Pit and fissure sealants can be used on children’s teeth.Back teeth are hard to clean and may be more prone to developing cavities in some children. Sealants may be applied to the back teeth to help protect them.
GETTING A FREE START ON A BEAUTIFUL SMILEVisiting the dentist at an early age helps identify any problems in your child’s jaw growth and development as well as detecting any early signs of poor oral hygiene and decay. It is also important as it helps them to develop a positive relationship with our dentists from an early age. Sensational Smiles Dental Clinic offers a complimentary dental exam for children up to the age of two. It gives our dentists a chance to check to see if there are any problems as those first teeth come in. And the sooner your child becomes accustomed to visiting the dentist, the more confident and comfortable they will be to come back, setting them up for a lifetime of good oral habits.
A SECOND CHANCE FOR A LIFETIME OF GREAT SMILESIf your child has had an unhappy experience while receiving dental treatment elsewhere, our child-friendly atmosphere and friendly staff will erase any doubts or discomfort they may have about visiting the dentist. Our dentists will take the time to explain everything to you and to your child using words they can easily understand in order to make them feel relaxed and comfortable while they get the care they need.
Comprehensive dental examinationEvery year, millions of people require treatment for tooth decay and gum disease.With good dental education and a regular oral hygiene routine, many of these conditions can be prevented. Keeping your mouth healthy will minimise decay and gum disease progression. An effective brushing and flossing routine will keep your mouth healthy and your smile bright. At Sensational Smiles Dental a comprehensive dental exam will be performed by your Dentist at your initial dental visit and at your regular 6 monthly check-up exams. Your examination will include the following:
- Examination of tooth decay: All tooth surfaces will be checked for decay with special dental instruments.
- Examination of existing restorations: Checking current fillings, crowns, etc.
- Examination of diagnostic x-rays/OPG: These are essential for detection of decay, tumours, cysts, and bone loss. X-rays also help determine tooth and root positions.
- Oral cancer screening: examining your face, neck, lips, tongue, throat, tissues, and gums for any signs of oral cancer.
- Gum disease evaluation: examining your gums and bone around the teeth for any signs of periodontal disease.
- Oral Hygiene Education & Dietary Advice
Professional dental cleaningAt your initial dental visit and your regular 6 monthly check-up exams your Dental Hygienist will also perform a professional clean which will include: Removal of calculus (tartar): Calculus is hardened plaque that has been left on the tooth for some time and is now firmly attached to the tooth surface. Calculus forms above and below the gum line and can only be removed with special dental instruments.
- Removal of plaque: Plaque is a sticky, almost invisible film that forms on the teeth. It is a growing colony of living bacteria, food debris, and saliva. The bacteria produce toxins that inflame the gums. This inflammation is the start of gum disease.
- Teeth polishing: This helps remove staining and plaque that is not otherwise removed during tooth brushing and scaling.
- Topical Fluoride Application: This strengthens the teeth once they have erupted by seeping into the outer surface of the tooth enamel, making the teeth more resistant to decay. You should have a professional application of fluoride twice a year during dental check-ups.
